Our Activities

Inspired by Amma’s selfless example, the Toronto Satsang community serves year-round — on the farm, in shelters and food banks, with children and youth, and in the quiet of meditation and prayer.

"In today’s world, people experience two types of poverty: the poverty caused by lack of food, clothing and shelter, and the poverty caused by lack of love and compassion. Of these two, the second type needs to be considered first — because if we have love and compassion in our hearts, then we will wholeheartedly serve those who suffer from lack of food, clothing and shelter."

— Amma

Why it Matters

Food insecurity touches every corner of the Greater Toronto Area — and love answers in practical ways. Every Saturday, rescued food reaches families through a network of thirteen partner charities. Every season, the orchard’s harvest goes to food banks. Every winter, care packages warm neighbours living on the street. Each hour of seva — in the kitchen, the orchard, or beside a child learning to serve — is an offering, and everyone is welcome to take part.
