About Us

Welcome to Amma’s Toronto Satsang

Sat = goodness, the Supreme Truth | sang = gathering. Though the term satsang carries deeper meanings, it can be simply understood as a gathering for goodness.

Amma’s Toronto Satsang group is very diverse, with individuals of many different cultures and religions coming together as one family. We meet twice a month, usually on Saturdays. During satsang, the 108 names of Amma are chanted, followed by meditation, a reading from one of Amma’s teachings, bhajan singing, prayers for world peace, and arati — concluded with a shared vegetarian meal. Everyone is welcome, including newcomers!

One can sponsor a satsang to mark a birthday, anniversary or other special event — email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org to learn more.

Need a ride? If you need a ride to satsang — or are driving and could bring someone else — email our ride coordinator at torsatsang.rides@gmail.com.

A Farm, a Family, a Force for Good

Home to the Amma Canada Centre and its 14-acre farm, the Toronto community turns Amma’s teachings into steady, practical love: an orchard of 200-plus fruit trees whose harvest — 12,821 lbs of apples and pears in 2023 alone — goes to food banks across the Greater Toronto Area; a Food Rescue project that has moved over 10,000 lbs of surplus food to families in need; chilli served at shelters, cookies baked for those on the street, and Newcastle Park lovingly tended since 2005. There is a place here for every pair of hands.
