Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique
"The purpose of meditation is to attain clear direction and centering, and then good qualities spontaneously bloom… the same energy that manifests as anger, hatred, jealousy, lust and other negative thoughts can become compassion, love, and non-violence."
— Amma
The Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique (IAMT) is a powerful, easy-to-learn meditation approach created by Amma, blending gentle movement, breath, visualization and sound. There are four versions: IAM-35 and IAM-20 for adults, and two designed for youth aged 10–14 and 15–18. All are taught by carefully selected, thoroughly trained instructors — always free of charge.
A five-year controlled study published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine demonstrated a wide range of significant physiological and psychological benefits, and IAMT has been taught in settings from the Indian Army to universities and correctional facilities in Ontario. Practitioners report a more positive outlook, greater clarity and resiliency, and more satisfying relationships.
Classes and refreshers are taught regularly in local venues and during Amma’s yearly visits to Canada and the US. For upcoming classes, or to host one in your community, contact ammatoronto@ammagroups.org. More: iam-meditation.org · integratedmeditation.org.
