Amrita Bala Kendra (“Amrita Children’s Centre”) is a spiritual and cultural program for children ages 4–14. Through stories, games, music, field trips, arts and crafts, festivals, environmental activities and service projects, the Bala Kendra offers children an understanding of spiritual principles and how to bring them into daily life.
Classes are held on Zoom every Sunday, 9:30–10:30 a.m. — chanting, storytelling, yoga, devotional singing and talks on social values. Fun days include family yoga in the park and bonfires.
Service activities: tree planting across the GTA each fall; holiday cards for nursing-home residents with no family contact; and sandwich-making for the local homeless shelter — teaching children that even the young can relieve the suffering of others.
