International Day of Yoga Satsang

Jun 21, 2025 4:00pm-7:30pm (ended)

The purpose of Yoga is for our inner well-being. It does not belong to any particular faith or religion. It was passed on to us by the ancient seers for the well-being of humanity.  Yoga helps us reconnect with nature and eventually become one with God. - Amma

In recognition of the many mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of yoga, the International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on June 21 since 2015, following its 2014 inception in the United Nations General Assembly. To mark this occasion, there will be a free one-hour Amrita Yoga class suitable for all levels of yoga practitioners at 10am this Saturday. Lear more here. Come and experience the powerful and ancient practice of yoga. Yoga asanas (poses) will be adaptable to suit participants' ability.

You are also warmly invited to join us for a special satsang in observance of International Yoga Day. Satsang will start with archana at 4pm, followed by a talk on yoga and gentle yoga exercises. The yoga exercises session will be led by MA Center Chicago's Amrita Yoga instructor, Jagruti Patel. This yoga session will be suitable for all ages and levels, so please dress accordingly and bring a yoga mat if you have one.The yoga session will be followed by bhajans and arati. A delicious vegetarian meal will be available after satsang.
