Stillness and Celebration - A Holiday Special Satsang

The Holiday Special Satsang began in deep stillness, honoring World Meditation Day with White Flower meditation and the gentle resonance of Ma Om. Sitting together in shared silence, the room seemed to shimmer with a soft, radiant energy—a quiet glow of presence, peace, and connection. One attendee reflected, “We should do this more often—it felt so good,” a sentiment that lingered warmly in the hearts of all present.

From meditation, the gathering moved into service at Alpha House, where the warmth of connection carried forward. MAC Michigan volunteers sang familiar Christmas carols, offered hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and peppermint, and shared cookies with residents who stayed to talk and smile. One resident simply said, “It was just what I needed after being in the cold all day.”

Children brought lightness and laughter, carefully assembling marshmallow snowmen with pretzels and chocolate, only to happily enjoy them moments later. A six-year-old proudly crafted snowman after snowman, while a seven-year-old paused to ask if this was a party. When asked what he thought, he answered, “Definitely a party.” Their playful energy then drifted into music, as little hands took turns at the keyboard, curiosity and joy filling the room.

As the day drew to a close, hearts were full and spirits lifted. The simple acts of presence, music, and shared treats reminded everyone that the true warmth of the season lies in connection—quiet moments of reflection, joyful laughter, and the smiles we offer one another. In stillness and in service, this Holiday Special Satsang became more than an event; it became a celebration of togetherness, compassion, and the small, meaningful joys that make the season bright.
