MA Center Michigan

Compassion In Action

What is Seva?

Seva is a word from Sanskrit, one of the ancient languages of India. Seva is best translated as “selfless service.” This kind of service is done simply for the wellbeing of others and the world, without expecting any personal gain or benefit.

On Saturdays, the center is bustling with volunteers. With nearly 55 acres, the property requires all kinds of ongoing attention and care. The orchards and gardens offer a great opportunity to spend the day outdoors in nature. Several teams of volunteers maintain MA Center of Michigan or help with the various community outreach projects such as Mother’s Kitchen, Meals on Wheels etc, all that are part of seva.

Whether you have plenty of time, or just a few hours, there is a place here for you to volunteer. See how you can serve by reading about our current projects on the sidebar →
