Amma's Birthday Offering from Iowa - On World Cleanup Day

Amma's Birthday Honored through World Cleanup Day

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., devotees of Amma at the Mata Amritanandamayi Center of Iowa (MACI) in Fairfield gathered in service to mark World Cleanup Day.

Inspired by Amma’s heartfelt wish that Her children worldwide engage in selfless service, the group came together—undaunted by a gentle rain—to beautify their community.

Volunteers worked with dedication, collecting trash, bricks, and broken cement, cutting weeds, removing waste piles, pulling down invasive ivy, and clearing mud and debris from gutters. Their efforts filled several dumpsters and many bags with refuse, transforming the area around the ashram and beyond.

After hours of cleanup, the group celebrated by taking photos with their new ashram marquee sign, a joyful moment of unity and gratitude. The day was not only about environmental care but also about expressing their deep appreciation for Amma’s tireless service to the world community.
