July 19th - Guru Purnima at MA Center LA

MACenter Los Angeles Guru Purnima led by Swami Dayamritananda Puri was a day filled with laughter, joy, delicious food, community and auspicious spiritual practices. AYUDH youth sponsored a school supply drive on behalf of local underserved families collecting donations of backpacks, lunchboxes and stationery.
Guru Purnima Celebration day started with many sevite devotees arriving to complete finishing touches in the hall, on Amma’s altar and in the Ammashop. In the kitchen, cooks were busy chanting their mantras while chopping, mixing and cooking the many dishes to be served for Guru Purnima Prasad dinner.
As devotees began arriving chai and snacks were enjoyed by all while old friends connected and new friends were made. Bags of school supply donations arrived filling tables and the surrounding floor.
As guests settled in their chairs this year’s Garland of Gratitude offerings began. At the mic devotees shared experiences with Amma that were touching, at times humorous and always full with personal insights.
Next, AYUHD sponsored a fun and delightful game of Charades, enjoyed with much laughter by performers and team members!
After a short break for refreshments and with all feeling lighthearted and joyful Swami Dayamritananda Puri began the afternoon program leading all in Pada Puja, Satsang and Bhajans inviting devotees through the ceremonies to experience deep gratitude and surrender. After Pada Puja ceremony, Swami Dayamritananda Puri’s Satsang talk overflowed with Amma love, kindness and spiritual wisdom. He shared personal stories filled with humor, humility and Dharmic wisdom reminding us of Amma’s precious gifts in her teachings of selfless service, devotion and surrender.
The program concluded with a rousing set of Bhajans dedicated to Guru. Musicians and singers from San Ramon and Southern California accompanied leading all in heart felt singing that filled the hall.
Guru Purnima celebrations at MACenter LA concluded with Swamiji giving Prasad and everyone enjoying their fill of the delicious Prasad dinner, relaxing in the peaceful aftermath of a beautiful program.
