MA Center Chicago GreenFriends presents:

Food as Medicine ~ Lighten & Detox for Spring

Ayurvedic Eating with the Season

Date & Time: Wednesday, May 14, 5:30 – 8:30pm

Place: MACC - Satsang Hall

Our body is made to follow the rhythm of Nature. It’s time to listen to our buddhi, or the intelligence of nature within us. We can use the long-tested wisdom of Ayurveda to improve our health and vitality by choosing foods according to the flow of the seasons.

When we gently release the heavy padding which protected us during Chicago’s harsh winter, we can avoid the weight gain, lethargy, brain fog, spring allergies and summer congestion associated with excess Kapha and clogged channels. These delicious recipes will both clear the dampness and delight the senses.

Find out your Prakruti, (body-mind type) by taking the Dosha Test. Find out what foods are good for this season and why, plus lifestyle tips. Learn the medicinal value of spices and common foods and how to use the more unusual gems. Hands on preparation and tasting of seasonal recipes with practitioner Mahana Phillips. Quick and Easy Recipes, Pure Bliss results! Vegetarian and gluten free.

Registration: Suggested donation: $25
