Orchard/Garden Mulch Improved!

Orchard/Garden Work Day Success

May 31, 2026

A group of hard working devotees came together on Sunday, May 31 to care for the ashram's orchard and garden.  The day stared early with a group prayer in front of the fruit tree planted by Vaishnavi many years ago. The then dozen or so volunteers set to work, weeding around the nearly 50 trees including the 10 saplings that were grown at the ashram, watering and most importantly, spreading mulch from Reunity farms around both the fruit trees and the ashram flower garden. The hard workers were treated with fresh chai and hot burritos thanks to the generosity of the Burrito Project.

A good time was had by all and the trees are so grateful.

"Forests play the most important role in the preservation of harmony in nature. Every country should strive to protect its remaining forests and to plant as many trees as possible. Every single one of us should take a promise to plant a tree a month, so every person plant 12 trees every year." - Amma

"Just as we enjoy the trees planted by people in the past, we too should plant for future generations." - Amma
