Serving with Love at the Shelter - Minnesota Satsang

Preparing a nourishing meal with love for shelter residents.

MN Amma Satsang volunteers continue to joyfully engage in Seva by preparing and serving meals at the local shelter. Working together in the shelter’s kitchen, our team regularly cooks hearty pasta dishes, prepares sandwiches with sides, and serves lunch to the 75 residents who call the shelter home.

Beyond providing nourishing meals, the shelter’s mission is to help guests overcome housing barriers and connect them to essential resources. These include housing assistance, veterans’ services, health programs, and access to three daily meals, showers, laundry facilities, toiletries, mail services, and even a savings program—all designed to support stability and dignity.

Our volunteers participate in this Seva periodically, contributing both time and care. The most recent meal preparation and service took place on August 30, 2025, when volunteers once again came together to offer food, kindness, and encouragement to the shelter community.

Through these small but meaningful acts, MN Amma Satsang volunteers strive to embody Amma’s message of compassion in action—helping to ease hardship while building bonds of love and service.
