Swami Dayamritananda Puri 2025 PNW Tour

The Pacific Northwest Amma community had the good fortune to welcome Swami Dayamritananda Puri back to the region for a 4-day tour between July 3-6. Swamiji held public programs at the MA Center PNW in Seattle, WA, as well as Port Townsend, WA, Victoria B.C., and Vancouver, B.C. Despite the holiday weekend, each program attracted a full house of attendees. Swamiji led beautiful meditations, inspiring talks, and sang uplifting bhajans at each location.

Swami Dayamritananda Puri's PNW Yatra – Port Townsend, WA
by Vandya Huntting

Over a whirlwind long weekend, Swami Dayamritananda Puri visited Seattle, Port Townsend, Victoria, and Vancouver, July 3–6. It’s such a blessing that Amma sends Swamiji out to smaller Satsangs—it’s validation that Amma sees us, knows of our longing and need for spiritual connection.

Each Satsang has its own unique flavor and culture. For us on the Olympic Peninsula, much like in Vancouver and Victoria, Swamiji's visit is a big event—akin to preparing for Amma herself to come! Weeks of preparation with meetings, Zoom calls, and lots of lists bring a freshness to Satsang and spark deep joy as we work together to serve Amma’s mission.

The day arrives—Swamiji and his entourage land. Excitement fills the air! This time, about 20 people traveled with him, many of them AYUDH (youth group) members from the PNW and around the country. As he usually does, he led us in chanting of the 108 names of Amma and guided us in meditation. By the end of meditation, the room was silent and radiant—as if Amma’s love glowed within us and filled the space.

Swamiji then gave an uplifting talk on how to face these chaotic and disruptive times. At the end, he answered a few questions from the audience and shared impactful stories imbued with Amma’s teachings of love, service, and compassion.

Then the singing began! An impressive group of youth played instruments and provided most of the backup singing for Swamiji. A few young women led songs with great energy, devotion, and precision! Most of them know each other, having grown up around Amma with their families.

“They did everything together, there was no question of who did what – they just did it together. They shared about school, talked about Amma, chanted, sometimes spontaneously sang together and had fun! They were tuned to Swamiji and followed his instructions… It’s inspiring, there is a vibrant, talented group coming up!”

I’m guessing each Satsang has a similar but unique tale of this Yatra; but for all, it was like a spring rain falling on our hearts and communities.
