Farming Seva - July 12

Cherries are done, but the harvest is just beginning
Amma Canada Farms had a short but successful cherry season. A big 'thank you' to those who came out in the hot and humid weather last Saturday, and during the week to help with the harvest! This weekend, the Farm Team will be focussing on the following areas:
- Tidying the grounds in preparation for Ramanandamrita’s visit on Sunday
- Weeding in the veggie and flower gardens
- Pruning and hanging fly traps in the orchard
- Harvesting kale and Swiss chard for Saturday and Sunday sales
- Assisting with sales at the veggie sales table
The Farm Team needs your help! Special attention is needed in the veggie garden: the leeks and onions are crying for your help, as they are drowning in weeds! Amma’s gardens and orchard would not exist without your dedication and many hands working together… Farm Seva is between 10 AM and 3 PM this Saturday, July 12. Please drop in at any time. Lunch will be served. Please let Pauline know by Friday, July 11 if you will be having lunch with the team. Amma Canada's veggie sales table is now open for the season! Kale and Swiss chard will be available to purchase for $3 a bunch on Saturday. Veggie sales begin at 11 AM. If you have any questions, please ask Brian or email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org.
