Amma Canada Sponsors Two PCAS Youth

Celebrating Youth & Community Spirit with Peel Children’s Aid Foundation
On Wednesday, June 11, Peel Children’s Aid Society (Peel CAS) and Peel Children's Aid Foundation (PCAF) held a special annual event to celebrate the accomplishments of disadvantaged youth in Peel Region through the generosity of community donors who lend their continued support. For many years, Amma Canada has supported the PCAF Trailblazer Donor Event by funding bursaries to support Peel CAS youth achieve their education goals. Amma also welcomed the Amma Canada bursary students onstage to award their bursaries, during Her Toronto 2010-2019 summer visits.
Our Toronto Charitable co-Coordinator, had the pleasure of attending on behalf of Amma Canada. During the event, we were warmly welcomed and deeply moved by the stories of the youth and the bright futures they are creating for themselves and their communities. We are especially grateful to our host, Mr Prasad Nair, Peel CAS Service Director, who took the time to walk us through the facility and explain the thoughtful details that went into creating a safe, creative environment for youth on their journey toward independence. The design reflects more than function—it reflects love, dignity, and hope.
This year, Amma Canada is proud to be providing bursaries to two youth - Joseph A & Simanpreet S - to help them complete their educational goals. Joseph A is entering his fourth year of the Bachelor of Commerce program at McMaster University. He plans to pursue a career in management consulting, with the goal of helping companies achieve sustainable growth. Through volunteering with local community organizations, Joseph has developed strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. He is also passionate about fitness and enjoys traveling in his spare time. Simanpreet S is currently enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at Durham College, with the goal of becoming a Dental Hygienist. To support this path, she will be entering the Pre-Health Science program at Durham later this year. In her spare time, Siman enjoys doing nails for friends and family and is an active participant in several Trailblazer programs.
As Amma says, “Love expresses itself as selfless service.” Amma Canada is honoured to witness and support the work being done at Peel Children’s Aid Foundation. We look forward to continuing to walk together in compassion, community, and care.
