Ganesh Murthi Making

Sep 4, 2021 10:00am-4:00pm (ended)

Ganesh Chaturthi is the celebration marking the birth of Lord Ganesha, God of success and overcoming obstacles.

MA Center San Ramon has always started the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with Ganesh murthi (sacred clay figure) making event at the Center. Due to the pandemic situation, we are providing kits for devotees to make their Ganesh murthis at home. You are also welcome to gather your own supplies. The murthi will be placed on your altar until the day of the participatory puja ceremony on Thursday, September 9th.

Ganesh Chaturthi kits with supplies for making a murthi and setting up your puja will be available for “curbside” pickup at the MA Center on Saturday, September 4th between 12 noon and 1:30 pm in the outer lot (VISHNU LOT 12) as you enter from Crow Canyon Rd. Cost is $5 per kit. Orders are due by 10:00 pm on Thursday, September 2.  Order your kit here >>

This three-part festival will continue on Thursday, September 9th, with the virtual Ganesh Chaturthi Puja, and will conclude on Saturday, September 18th, with the Visarjan (Immersion) of the Ganesh murthis. The ceremonies will be led by Swami Dayamritananda Puri.
