Amma's Birthday Celebration with Br. Dayamrita Chaitanya

Everyone is invited to Amma’s Birthday Celebration, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 10 AM to 10 PM at the MA Center in Amrita Hall and the surrounding grounds.

This event filled exceptional day will begin with Pada Puja (Special ceremony for the Guru) and Bhajans (devotional songs) to be concluded with dinner under the stars, a special Birthday Cake for dessert and Bhajans (devotional songs).

Schedule:

10 am - 12 pm - Pada Puja (Swamiji) and Bhajans
12 pm - 1 pm - Class by GreenFriends Farm 
1 pm - 2 pm - Lunch
2 pm - 3:45 pm- Seva (Selfless service) projects, Creating Birthday card for Amma
3:45 pm - 4:45 pm - Archana
4:45 pm - 5:15 pm - Amrita Bala Kendra performances
5:30 pm - 6:00  pm - Presentations
6:00 pm - 8:30 pm - 108 names of Amma, Spiritual talk and Bhajans (Swamiji)
8:30 pm - 10 pm - Dinner and bhajans under the stars

Castro Valley BART Station Pickup: 9:30 am for Pada Puja and evening 5:15 pm. For a 3:15 pm pick up, please RSVP ahead of time, on the BART pickup extension: 510-537-9417 x 447

Special projects:

In honor of Amma’s Birthday, we are collecting non-perishable food items for Amma’s Pantry Project  as well as clothing and basic living necessities for homeless individuals and families in the Bay Area.

See List of Items for the Bay Area homeless. Drop off Saturdays at the ashram until September 27. (Monetary donations will not be accepted)

All are welcome to join the ashram residents for daily spiritual practices in the Main House puja room:

Morning Archana

Monday-Saturday: 5 AM
Sunday: 6 AM

Evening Bhajans

Sunday - Friday: 7 PM
If there is no Saturday program in the temple hall, bhajans are in the Main House at 7 PM.

  • Guru Stotram Chanting
  • Bhajans (Devotional singing)
  • Closing prayers and Arati

Directions

The Main House is on the hill above the temple hall. When you arrive at MA Center,  turn right and cross over the small bridge. Use the call box on your left just before the outer gate to communicate that you need the gate opened to drive through. Then follow the road past the temple. The road continues on the right next to the temple gate, then curves left up the hill to the Main House. The puja room is just inside the front door to the house.
