Join us to celebrate World Environment Day with a tree planting followed by satsang, bhajans, meditation, and a community dinner. This World Environment Day, we will be planting approximately 38 trees at MA Center Chicago. Holes have been pre-dug, but we need many volunteers of all ages to help plant the trees, add fertilizer, water them, and more.

Here's the schedule:

8:00 AM to 1:00 PM - Tree planting along Keslinger Road (meet near the MA Center Chicago entrance)
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM - Lunch
2:00 PM to 5:00 PM - Seva (prep for the July retreat with Sw. Amritaswarupananda Puri)
5:00 PM to 6:00 PM - Chai
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM - Archana
&:00 PM to 8:00 PM - AYUDH bhajans and arati, followed by dinner

For the tree planting, closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes suitable for garden work are recommended, as are water, sunscreen, and your favorite work gloves. Afternoon seva will include weeding and trimming, painting in the satsang hall and some gym doors, exterior window cleaning, and cleaning chairs.

Masking is now optional in group gatherings and spaces at MA Center Chicago. Keeping the health and safety of all who wish to attend uppermost in our minds, please abide by the following Covid guidelines:

  • If you have any Covid symptoms, test immediately. If you test positive, isolate for 5 days after symptom onset. You can end isolation after 5 days but should wear a high-quality mask for 5 additional days around others. MA Center Chicago residents should notify a member of the Covid Preparedness Team to request help obtaining food/other supplies.
  • For those returning after international travel, please test 3-5 days after arriving back in the US. If negative, you may attend MA Center Chicago gatherings. If you have had Covid 90 days prior to arrival, and have no symptoms, quarantining is not necessary.

If you have any questions, please email macenterchicago@ammagroups.org.
