Onam Satsang & Celebration

Onam Satsang & Celebration
Onam Satsang & Celebration
(Yearly event) Aug 26, 2023 to Sep 14, 2024 (ended)

We will celebrate Onam, the colorful harvest festival of Kerala, with a day of community and Satsang. Amma says that the festival of Onam and its celebrations give us the message that prosperity, peace, and affluence result when ancient spiritual traditions and the modern world go hand in hand. Our Onam festivities will reflect the fine traditions of India, including Pookalam (beautiful flower arrangements like the one shown below outside of Amma's room during a past Onam), bhajans, a talk on the significance of Onam, an Onam cultural program, and of course, Sadhya, a grand Onam feast. See the schedule below.

Schedule for Saturday:
2:00-4:00PM - Pookalam (Flower arrangement)

4:00PM - 5:00PM - Archana

5:00PM -6:00PM - Onam talk and Onam festivities (tug of war)

6:00-8:15PM - Satsang (Bhajans, Arati, and Meditation), followed by an Onam Talk and Onam Cultural Program

8:15-9:15PM - Onam Sadhya (Kerala-style dinner)
