Earth Day at MA Center Chicago

Mark your calendar to celebrate Earth Day at MA Center Chicago in a big way, starting with seva at 11 am, lunch, a hands-on Seed Ball workshop at 2:30 (pre-registration required by April 19), chai at 4 pm, and a special satsang program during which we'll tune into selected sessions from the Amrita Virtual Academy Earth Day Retreat from 5 pm - 10 pm, including a live Q&A Zoom session with Swami Shantamritananda Puri. If you haven't signed up for the Amrita Virtual Academy Earth Day retreat, we encourage you to, but pre-registration is not required to participate in the satsang sessions. Here's the schedule:

11:00am - 1:00pm: Seva (outdoors weather permitting; please bring gloves
                               and dress for working outside)
1:00 pm - 2:00pm: Lunch
2:00pm - 2:30 pm: Break
2:30pm - 4:00 pm: Seed Ball Workshop (pre-registration required)
4:00pm - 5:00 pm: Chai break and Embracing the Trees announcement
5:00pm - 7:00pm: Archana, satsang, and Q&A via Amrita Virtual Academy Earth Day Retreat
                              featuring Br. Ramanandamrita Chaitanya, Swamini Ambikamrita Prana, and
                              Swami Shantamritananda Puri
7:00pm - 7:15pm: Break/dinner set up
7:15pm - 8:00pm: Dinner
8:00pm - 8:30 pm: Clean up and prep for bhajans and arati
8:30pm - 10:00pm: Bhajans livestreamed from Amritapuri via Amrita Virtual Academy

Masking is now optional in group gatherings and spaces at MA Center Chicago. Keeping the health and safety of all who wish to attend uppermost in our minds, please abide by the following Covid guidelines:

  • If you have any Covid symptoms, test immediately. If you test positive, isolate for 5 days after symptom onset. You can end isolation after 5 days but should wear a high-quality mask for 5 additional days around others. MA Center Chicago residents should notify a member of the Covid Preparedness Team to request help obtaining food/other supplies.
  • For those returning after international travel, please test 3-5 days after arriving back in the US. If negative, you may attend MA Center Chicago gatherings. If you have had Covid 90 days prior to arrival, and have no symptoms, quarantining is not necessary.
