A Shining Light of Selfless Service

Meet Jagadish, one of our AYUDH Toronto members
Meet Jagadish, one of our AYUDH Toronto members: His recent acts of compassion and creativity have touched many hearts. Through his heartfelt painting of a Hershey Kiss - a symbol of Amma’s darshan - Jagadish beautifully expressed selfless service.
Moved by the devastation caused by the LA fires, Jagadish created and sold greeting cards featuring his artwork, and raised $776 CAD ($540 USD) for the victims. On May 18, he handed the proceeds to Swami Dayamritananda Puri, who was visiting the Amma Canada Centre. Swamiji commended Jagadish’s effort, recognizing how he embodies Amma’s principle of “selfless service through one’s own talents."
Jagadish also donated the original painting to Amma’s Embracing the World Art Auction, raising funds for global charities. His story highlights his amazing mom, Rose, his unwavering supporter. Swami Dayamritananda Puri gave special thanks to Rose, reminding us of Amma’s teaching: “Parents who nurture spiritual values raise children who become lights to the world.”
Jagadish’s story is a powerful reminder that one person’s love can light up countless lives. Imagine what we can achieve when AYUDH unites with the same spirit! Let’s rise together and serve the world with compassion, strength, and unity! You can find Jagadish's letter to Amma on the AYUDH Toronto Facebook page, along with more pictures of Jagadish and his mother, Rose, with Swamiji Dayamritananda Puri.
“If our youth arise and act, they have the strength and dynamism to create a huge transformation in society.” ~ Amma
