250 lbs of food saved from the landfill
On Saturday October 25, one of Amma Canada's dedicated Food Rescue drivers picked up over 250 pounds of useable non-perishable food from our partner Georgetown Bread Basket to deliver to Brampton’s Knights Table. Donations included 36 large cans of tomatoes juice for their meal service, and several boxes of assorted boxed and canned food. This ongoing project helps keeps useable food from being wasted (i.e. sent to garbage bins), and helps feed meals to those in need.
