Farming Seva - July 5

Cherries from Amma Canada's orchard

Get some cherries while you can!

A huge thanks to the sevaks who came to harvest cherries last Saturday and on Canada Day, in spite of the hot and humid weather. We have harvested over 100 lbs of cherries already! Most of the trees in the lower orchard have been picked. We will continue harvesting throughout the week, as the cherries are ripening very fast. This Saturday will probably be our final cherry harvest and the last day to purchase cherries, so don’t miss out on this opportunity! Amma Canada is selling cherries for $6/lb. Please place your preorder now with Brian or Daya for pick-up on Saturday, July 5.

Boy planting seeds in planterAmma Canada's veggie sales table is now open for the season! Kale and Swiss chard will be available to purchase for $3 a bag on Saturday. Veggie sales begin at 11 AM.

Farm Seva continues on Saturday, July 5 from 10 AM to 4 PM. The focus will be harvesting cherries, kale, and Swiss chard.  If we are able to get through all the harvesting, we can continue to work on weeding, pruning, and other fun stuff. Hope to see you there any time between 10 AM and 4 PM! A light lunch will be served. For planning purposes, please let Pauline know if you will be present for lunch by noon on Friday, July 4. Questions? Ask Brian or email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org.
