Farming Seva - July 26

Pruning Workshop on Saturday, August 2
Very appreciative of all who came and gave us a helping hand in the veggie garden and on the grounds last Saturday. Needless to say, farming activities will continue this Saturday, July 26, including:
- Weeding and harvesting in the veggie garden,
- Pruning and removing tree stumps in the orchard,
- Staking the tomato plants,
- Weeding in the flower gardens,
- Assisting at the veggie sales table,
- Assisting with lunch prep.
Come and share in the joy of selfless service with like-minded volunteers any time between 10 AM and 4 PM. A light lunch will be served. Please let Pauline know by Friday if you are joining the team for lunch.
Amma Canada's veggie sales table is open from 11 AM - 4 PM every Saturday. This week, there will be kale and Swiss chard, zucchini, poi (Malabar spinach), and possibly string beans for sale.
The Orchard Team will offer a free Intro to Pruning Workshop on Saturday, August 2 from 10 AM - 12 PM. All are welcome! In this hands-on workshop, you will learn why, when and how to prune fruit trees. You will try out different pruning tools while pruning apple or pear trees in the Amma Canada orchard, and get one-on-one feedback. Bring your questions about pruning, fruit tree care, and the Amma Canada orchard!
Information regarding our newly revised bee program will be shared in next week’s newsletter. In the meantime, our three hives are performing well in spite of the hot and humid weather. If you have any questions, please ask Brian or email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org.
