Farming Seva - Aug 30

Amma Canada pears

Summer pears are here!

It has been a busy week with the harvesting of summer pears and delivering farm produce to food banks: volunteers delivered 110 lbs of tomatoes, 2 lbs of Malabar spinach, 48 lbs of pears and 10 lbs of apples to the Salvation Army in Etobicoke, the Knight's Table in Brampton, and Parkdale Community Food Bank in downtown Toronto.

Our Farming seva continues Saturday, August 30 from 11 AM to 4 PM with the harvesting of summer pears and various vegetables, and general maintenance of the grounds. Amma Canada is blessed with a good crop of tomatoes this year, and is selling them for $2/lb! This is a great opportunity to purchase tomatoes to make tomato sauce, Indian chutney, tomato jam, and perhaps freeze some for the winter. Farm produce will be available for sale from 11 AM - 4 PM. As always, the team is very appreciative of your support. A light lunch will be served.  If you have any questions, please ask Brian or email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org.
