Farming Seva - Aug 16

Harvesting tomatoes, karela, poi, cabbage & lauki this week
A big thanks to all who endured the sweltering heat this past weekend! Despite the heat, at the hives, the bees are busy doing what they do best: collecting nectar and making honey! Our beekeeper is looking for a couple of volunteers to assist and to shadow her at the hives. Some training provided. For further details, please contact Pauline.
In the orchard, our one peach tree produced approximately 30 lbs of delicious peaches this year! Next to harvest are the summer pears, which should be ready to pick by next weekend, if not earlier. Farm produce for sale this weekend will include tomatoes, karela (bitter melon), poi (Malabar spinach), cabbage, and lauki. Come and shop at the farm this Saturday from 11 AM - 4 PM.
Farm seva continues this Saturday, August 16 between 11 AM and 4 PM. We will continue with the harvesting of veggies and, of course, weeding. There will be some ground maintenance as well. Are you joining the farm team for lunch? Please help the lunch team by contacting Pauline no later than Friday late morning if you will be joining the farm team for lunch. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday. Stay cool and hydrated! If you have any questions, please ask Brian or email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org.
