For Amma's 73rd birthday, observed this year as Vishwa Seva Dinam — A Day of Selfless Service — Amma Toronto is organizing four service initiatives over the weekend of September 25–27. One of them is Farm Harvest Day at Amma Canada Farms.

Food bank use in Toronto has risen 273% since before the pandemic, and in 2023 about one in five households in Peel and York Region experienced food insecurity. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, September 26, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. to harvest apples from the orchard and vegetables from the garden. The produce will be delivered by volunteers to food banks across the GTA the next day.
You can also help with end-of-season seva in the vegetable garden — removing spent plants and storing landscape fabric and staples — and support the farm by buying produce: winter squash, eggplant, green beans, tomatoes and more. Lunch is provided for volunteers.
