Vijayadashami Program: in-person

Oct 12, 2024 9:00am-10:30am (ended)

The word Navaratri means 'nine nights' in Sanskrit. During these nine nights, the different forms of the Divine Mother,  Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati, are honored for three nights each. The spiritual aspirant conquers negative tendencies by worshiping Devi Durga, gains spiritual wealth by worshiping Devi Lakshmi, and gains knowledge by worshiping Devi Saraswati. On the 10th day of Navaratri, the aspirant celebrates victory over lower tendencies and is filled with spiritual wisdom in a celebration called Vijayadashami.

Vijayadasami is the culmination of the nine days of worshiping the Divine Mother and is dedicated to invoking the blessings of Saraswati Devi, the Goddess of Learning. Traditionally, on this day children enter the world of knowledge with a special ceremony. - Read more about Navaratri here.

Items offered for blessings on the 8th day of Navaratri will be ready for puja starting at 8 AM on this auspicious day.  All are welcome to join.

Schedule:

  • Vijayadashami Puja
  • Bhajans
  • Arati and closing prayers
