Onam Celebration & Autumn Equinox
This Saturday program will include special celebration for Onam the harvest festival of Kerala, Amma’s home state in India. Festivities include creating the Pookalam. Pookalam is a fresh flower carpet traditionally made on the porch of every home, during this festival time. Many hands are needed to create this huge beautiful welcome design at the entrance to Amrita Hall. We will also have a visit from Maveli, the king in whose honor Onam festival was started, followed by bhajans (ending with a special Kerala folk song), and a traditional Kerala dinner.
Come and join in for as much of the day as you wish!

The road continues on the right next to the temple gate, then curves left up the hill to the Main House. The puja room is just inside the front door to the house.
