Ganesh Visarjana Murthi Immersion is the culmination of Ganesh Chaturthi. The symbolism of the immersion ceremony is that all forms are temporary, having both their origin and final destination in the formless Absolute.
The pujari will lead a prayer and do a short puja ceremony to the Ganesh figure, while participants chant along. Then everyone can take ten minutes to immerse their clay Ganesh murthis in a bucket of water. All are welcome to have their cameras on so we can see each other’s immersions. Ganesh bhajans will be played over Zoom during the immersion.
After the murthis dissolve, the water can be used to water your plants. You are also welcome to take your murthi to a nearby body of water for immersion, although that would take longer than 10 minutes.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a three-part event:
August 15-20: Ganesh Murthi Making
Friday, August 21: Ganesh Chaturthi Puja
Saturday, August 29. 6:30-7:00 pm: Ganesh Visarjan - Immersion Ceremony

The road continues on the right next to the temple gate, then curves left up the hill to the Main House. The puja room is just inside the front door to the house.
