Ganesha Chaturthi Puja - Virtual & In Person

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as a three-part festival at MA Center. The first part is making your own Ganesh from clay; second is the Puja for your Ganesha; and the final event is the Visarjan (immersion). The symbolism of the Ganesh immersion ceremony is that all forms are temporary, having both their origin and final destination in the formless Absolute.
We welcome you to be a part of the puja offered to the handmade Ganesh murthis (sacred clay figures) you created at home, as we honor Lord Ganesha, who removes obstacles and brings good fortune.
Due to preparations for Swamiji’s offsite programs, we are not able to hold this event in Amrita Hall. Therefore the puja will be primarily virtual, led from the Main House puja room. There will be very limited space for those who wish to attend in person. Please only do so if you are unable to participate virtually.
Livestream: The puja will be livestreamed on the MA Center San Ramon YouTube channel.
Schedule:
- Participatory Ganesh Puja
- Bhajans
- Arati and Closing prayers
We are providing kits for devotees to make their Ganesh murthis (sacred clay figures) and prepare for the puja at home. You are also welcome to gather your own supplies. Kits will be available to pick up on Saturday, August 23rd from 12-3 pm on the temple porch. Please RSVP by Wednesday, Aug 20th if you would like a kit or kits,10 pm here.

The three-part Ganesh Chaturthi festival will conclude on Saturday, September 6th with the in-person Visarjan (Immersion) of the Ganesha murthis.

The Main House is on the hill above the temple hall. When you arrive at MA Center, turn right and cross over the small bridge. Use the call box on your left just before the outer gate to communicate that you need the gate opened to drive through. Then follow the road past the temple. The road continues on the right next to the temple gate, then curves left up the hill to the Main House. The puja room is just inside the front door to the house.
