Lord Ayyappa is a symbol of religious unity and communal harmony. Sabarimala in Kerala is the most famous Ayyappa shrine visited by over 50 million devotees every year, making it one of the most popular pilgrimages in the world. Pilgrimage to this temple symbolizes the journey to heaven.
