Vishu Satsang with Swamini

"Vishu conveys the message of the unbreakable interconnection between man, nature and God. The word vishu means “equal.” Vishu is the day on which day and night are equal. This signifies accepting both comfort and hardships in life equally." - Amma
This year's Vishu satsang will include a Bhagavati Seva puja performed by Swamini at 5pm CT in the MACC satsang hall. The Bhagavati Seva Puja is an ancient Vedic ceremony from Amma's state of Kerala. It honors the female aspect of the supreme consciousness and is conducted to restore peace, bring balance to the environment and overcome negativity. The worship helps to foster personal well-being, prosperity, mental calm, and remove obstacles in personal and professional life.
The puja features the auspicious chanting of devotional songs, the Lalitha Trishati, Durga Suktam and Mahisasura Mardini stotram, ending with prayers for peace for all beings.
All are welcome to attend. To register for a sankalpa (special intention) click here. The cost is $100 USD and registration cut-off is Saturday, April 18th at 3pm CT.
Here's the schedule for our Vishu satsang:
12:30-2:00 - Vishu Sadhya (a special Kerala-style dinner)
4:00-5:00 - Archana
5:00-7:30 - Bhagavati Seva puja by Swamini Ambikamrita Prana
7:30 - Arati, Thai Neetam* and Prasad
*Thai Neetam (often referred to as Vishu Thaineettam) is an Amma-inspired (Mata Amritanandamayi) environmental initiative, launched in 2015 by AYUDH. It is a sustainable, green twist on the traditional Malayalam New Year (Vishu) custom of Vishu Kaineettam, where elders give money to younger family members
Please note, our special Vishu Sadhya meal at 12:30 will take the place of dinner tomorrow. We will offer light fare after Thai Neetam.
