2026 Backpack Drive

In Detroit, about 1 in 6 K-12 students face homelessness or housing instability—arriving at school without even the basic tools to learn. The MA Center Michigan organizes an annual drive for Operation Backpack®, a Volunteers of America project. We aim to provide 108 fully stocked backpacks to homeless and at-risk students in Detroit, offering them essential supplies to support their education and well-being annually. These backpacks aim to empower children and help them succeed. Join us in making a positive impact and brightening the futures of these deserving students through your generous contributions.
Since 2023, we have brightened the futures of 270 children.
