Projects

Our Programs

From Mother's Kitchen serving a Manhattan soup kitchen to the ashram garden that fed a food bank while the center lay dormant, from a children's program to a youth movement to a virtual book club, the M.A. Center NY/NJ community turns Amma's teachings into steady, practical love. Every project runs on volunteers — there is a place here for everyone.

"The beauty and charm of selfless love and service should not die away from the face of the earth. The world should know that a life of dedication is possible, that a life inspired by love and service to humanity is possible."

— Amma

Why it Matters

Amma teaches that a life inspired by love and service is possible for everyone. At M.A. Center NY/NJ that looks like a warm vegetarian meal served at a Manhattan soup kitchen, fresh vegetables grown from seed and carried to a food bank, and children and youth learning that every act of service is a gift. Seva — selfless service — is the heart of everything we do.
