About the Center
The Mata Amritanandamayi Center (M.A. Center) NY/NJ is the hub of spiritual and humanitarian activities inspired by Her Holiness Mata Amritanandamayi — known around the world as Amma. From its home in New Rochelle, New York, the center anchors a family of satsang groups across the greater New York and New Jersey area, gathering to take part in activities for spiritual upliftment and selfless service to society.
A Diverse Family
The M.A. Center NY/NJ family is a very diverse group. Our members come from literally every major religion, ethnicity, tradition and culture, coming together as one family. Although we primarily follow the Indian tradition of Sanatana Dharma, we observe the important days of all major religions and cultures. Community & Satsang Groups
Beyond the monthly satsang in New Rochelle, local satsang groups meet across the region — in Manhattan (including Morningside Heights and the NYC Downtown group), Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester, New Jersey, and Redding, Connecticut. The center is home to daily sadhana and prayers, a virtual IAM meditation session, Mother's Kitchen, the Amrita Bala Kendra children's program, the AYUDH youth movement, and a virtual Amrita Book Club.
How Can I Get Involved?
The monthly satsang is a wonderful way to experience the community, and every one of our service projects welcomes volunteers. To join our mailing list or find the satsang group nearest you, email macenterny@ammagroups.org.
