River of Love is a documentary drama on the life of Amma. It was released in 1999. Filmed in southwestern India in the village of Amma's birth, this film documents the trying times and mystical reveries that are the hallmark of Amma's early years. The talents of a professional film crew from Los Angeles, California, USA, combine with the enthusiasm of local actors, villagers and ashram residents, to recreate this moving story that unfolded on the banks of the timeless backwaters, in a small fishing village now known as Amritapuri.
