Welcome to the San Diego Satsang

Our satsang gathers weekly to chant and pray together, and carries Amma's love into the community through Mother's Kitchen, an ongoing food drive, GreenFriends, and free meditation classes.

Whether you have known Amma for years or are simply curious, all are warmly welcome to join us.

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well-being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who first enjoys their beauty and fragrance. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts.

— Amma

Amma encourages devotees to gather regularly, whether weekly at a home or a hall, to sing, meditate, and pray together, and then to share a meal as a spiritual family. It is an atmosphere that steadies the mind, uplifts everyone present, and quietly shapes the children who grow up in it.

Satsang Schedule

Daily

Archana for world peace, online every day. We chant with devotees across Southern California, mornings and evenings (weekdays at about 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Pacific). Times and the Zoom link are on MA Center LA's Archana page.

Mother's Kitchen

Every other Sunday from 1:00 to about 2:30 PM, we meet at Interfaith Community Services in Escondido to make about 160 bagged lunches for neighbors in need – a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich, chips, juice, a piece of fruit and a granola bar in every bag. Everyone is welcome.

Food Drive

We collect food for Interfaith Community Services. Bring non-perishable food – canned goods, or packages of grains or dry beans – to any satsang, or give toward the weekly shopping that Aravind and Devi do for these items. A list of needed non-food items is available too. To help, call Devi at (619) 972-7161.

IAM Meditation

We teach IAM®-20, the Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique® – gentle relaxation exercises and a simple meditation that anyone can practise in 20 minutes a day. The course is free and runs monthly, on the second Thursday morning.

Meditation

Daily Archana

Since August 2019, devotees across Southern California have chanted the Lokah Samastah peace prayer and the Archana together online, twice a day, for world peace and for Mother Earth. All are welcome to join from home.

Music Practice

Each week our musicians and backup singers practise the bhajans together, with tabla, flute, piano and other instruments. To join, subscribe to the music email list.

Bhajans

GreenFriends

As part of Amma's GreenFriends, our satsang uses reusable plates and cups at every event and weekly satsang, and our volunteers organize beach clean-ups.

GreenFriends
Children, never waste an opportunity to serve. The entire world looks up to those who have the heart to do selfless service.
