Welcome to the Santa Barbara Satsang

Meeting regularly since 1994, our satsang gathers one Sunday evening a month to watch a video of Amma, chant her names, sing bhajans, meditate, and read from her writings, and serves families experiencing homelessness through Transition House.

Whether you have known Amma for years or are simply curious, all are warmly welcome to join us.

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well-being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who first enjoys their beauty and fragrance. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts.

— Amma

Amma encourages devotees to gather regularly, whether weekly at a home or a hall, to sing, meditate, and pray together, and then to share a meal as a spiritual family. It is an atmosphere that steadies the mind, uplifts everyone present, and quietly shapes the children who grow up in it.

Satsang Schedule

Monthly

We meet on a Sunday evening once a month in members' homes: a video of Amma, invocation, the 108 Names, bhajans, meditation, a reading from Amma's writings, closing prayers, and a vegetarian potluck. Dates and locations vary, so please contact us for the current details. All are warmly invited.
