“Love the poor wholeheartedly. Go to their level. Believe that it is your dharma - your duty - to love and serve the poor.” ~ Amma
Since 2009, Amma Canada volunteers have continually been serving those in the Halton Hills Community by cooking and serving delicious, vegetarian chilli at the local food bank, Georgetown Bread Basket (GBB), as part of North American Mother’s Kitchen.
Please join us on Friday, July 17 to prepare seven crock pots of delicious vegetation chilli to serve guests at the GBB on Saturday, July 18. Amma Canada's Charitable Team is requesting 5-6 veggie choppers to help prep the veggies and assist with kitchen clean up at the Amma Canada Centre from 6:00-8:00 PM. All are welcome. Instruction will be provided for newcomers. A light snack will be provided!
Those who would like to try serving chilli are also invited to shadow the current serving volunteers at the GBB on Saturday, July 18, anytime from 8:30 AM to noon. If you wish to join this seva on July 17 or in the future, please contact Mahita or Nandini Melody, to be added to the GBB WhatsApp group, or email ammatoronto@ammagroups.org
