“Love the poor wholeheartedly. Go to their level. Believe that it is your dharma - your duty - to love and serve the poor.” ~ Amma
Since 2009, Amma Canada volunteers have continually been serving those in the Halton Hills Community by cooking and serving delicious, vegetarian chilli at the Georgetown Bread Basket (GBB). The soup kitchen projects of Toronto Satsang and Montreal Satsang volunteers have recently been featured in the North American Mother’s Kitchen newsletter.
Please join us for this fun seva as we start chopping, cooking, and serving chilli in 2026! Amma Canada needs 6-8 volunteer veggie choppers in the Amma Canada Centre kitchen on Friday, March 27 from 6:00-9:00 PM. Training will be provided. All are welcome! Those who would like to try serving chilli are also invited to shadow the current serving volunteers at the GBB on Saturday March 28, anytime from 8:30 AM to noon. If you wish to join this seva, please contact Mahita or Nandini Melody at ammatoronto@ammagroups.org
