Founded in 2001, GreenFriends is the international environmental initiative of Embracing the World — a volunteer-based movement that promotes environmental awareness and participation at the individual and community levels. GreenFriends seeks to inspire people to serve and protect nature, so that all life-forms may live in harmony upon the Earth.
Members of M.A. Center PNW have been active in coordinating the PNW Litter Project. Other activities include:
- The GreenFriends PNW Newsletter
- Tree planting and forest restoration
- Plant sales
- Gardening and permaculture classes
- Garden and yard work parties, helping people plant gardens (for a donation to the M.A. Center PNW fund)
