Rice Repacking and Care Bags for Amma's Birthday

MA Center PNW answered Amma’s call to be of service on her birthday with two opportunities.

On September 26, fifteen volunteers spent the morning at Food Lifeline’s Seattle facility, sorting and repacking 2,000 pounds of rice into bags bound for food banks and meal programs across Western Washington. The morning was filled with camaraderie and laughter, and the group left with a renewed desire to serve.

The following day, September 27, MA Center PNW members gathered to assemble 50 care bags for the Seattle Union Gospel Mission Women and Children’s Shelter. Following UGM’s guidelines, each colorful bag was filled with toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, socks, and feminine products. Volunteers added a personal touch by creating handmade cards, filling each bag with love.
