Feeding Our Neighbours
Mother's Kitchen Los Angeles prepares and serves healthy vegetarian meals to homeless women at the Downtown Women's Center. Volunteers cook from scratch and serve the meals with compassion — a warm luncheon for over 135 women every month, on the second Sunday of the month from July through April.

More broadly, MA Center LA serves about 1,100 meals a month to those in need across Santa Monica, the Westwood VA and downtown Los Angeles. Mother's Kitchen was founded by the MA Centers so that volunteers could serve the hungry in their own communities; today more than 40 chapters serve across North America.
Volunteer With Us
Volunteers are always welcome. A few practical notes: please wear modest, washable clothing with sleeves and closed-toe shoes, tie back your hair, and — if you will be handling food — obtain a California Food Handler certificate (about $10).
