The MA Center LA was inaugurated on January 21, 2014, in a newly refurbished art-deco landmark at 128 S. Catalina Avenue — one of the oldest buildings in Redondo Beach. The center is part of Embracing the World (ETW), the United Nations–affiliated charitable network founded by Mata Amritanandamayi — known around the world as Amma, the celebrated spiritual leader and humanitarian.
MA Center LA aims to be a vibrant hub for advancing humanitarian activities and community service throughout Southern California. All faiths and backgrounds are welcome. Learn more about Amma's humanitarian work at embracingtheworld.org.
What We Offer
The center is a home for community support, environmental initiatives, programs for youth and elders, music and the arts, yoga, meditation and healthy-living classes, and retreats and special events. Through Mother's Kitchen, MA Center LA serves about 1,100 meals a month to those in need across Santa Monica, the Westwood VA and downtown Los Angeles, and offers free Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) classes, beach cleanup drives, and evenings of devotional music.
