This spring, the youth of AYUDH LA came together to celebrate Mother's Day through heartfelt service and community engagement. Partnering with Mother's Kitchen, they served over 250 warm meals at the Downtown Women's Center, which uplifts women and gender-diverse individuals experiencing homelessness. The kitchen was filled with laughter and conversation as volunteers prepared and served food — highlighted by a special apple crumble dessert with ice cream. Inspired by Amma's message of selfless service, AYUDH LA aimed to honor and celebrate the strength of motherly love.
They also organized a spring clothing drive during the Mother's Day Retreat with Swami Dayamritananda Puri, collecting ten large bags of gently used clothing for the Downtown Women's Center and a local day-laborer community. To add a spark of fun, AYUDH hosted a Jeopardy game testing everyone's knowledge of Indian festivals, bhajans, Amma facts and LA satsang history, and organized a joyful Holi celebration at the April satsang — bringing energy and togetherness to all.
