Moccasin-Making Workshop

Making baby moccasins for Aboriginal children in foster care
This hands-on moccasin-making workshop will be led by Linda Schumacher, as part of the Di-giiwawaat ('So They Can Go Home') national campaign. The goals of this campaign are:
- To provide Indigenous children raised in foster care with a link to their culture and heritage.
- To raise awareness in the general public about discrimination and child apprehension impacting Aboriginal children and their families in Canada.

Workshop participants will each create a pair of baby moccasins that will be given to an Aboriginal child in foster care. The moccasins will be presented to Amma to be blessed at her Toronto program in July. The cost of the workshop is $20, and includes all necessary tools and materials. A light lunch will also be provided. To register for the workshop, please email torsatsang@gmail.com.
If you are interested in participating but are unable to attend on May 5, please email torsatsang@gmail.com, to be informed of future workshops.
