Welcome to the Victoria Satsang

Meeting since 1994, Victoria is Amma's oldest satsang in Canada. We live Amma's message of service and care for the earth — cooking every week for our unhoused neighbors, planting trees and growing food, and gathering to sing and remember Amma together.

Whether you have known Amma for years or are simply curious, all are warmly welcome to join us.

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well-being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who first enjoys their beauty and fragrance. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts.

Amma encourages devotees to gather regularly, whether weekly at a home or a hall, to sing, meditate, and pray together, and then to share a meal as a spiritual family. It is an atmosphere that steadies the mind, uplifts everyone present, and quietly shapes the children who grow up in it.

Mother's Kitchen – every Sunday, 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, at Our Place, 919 Pandora Ave. We bake cookies, make sandwiches and help serve lunch to neighbors in need. Newcomers are always welcome.

Get Involved

Mother's Kitchen

Since 2002 we have served every week at a downtown shelter, now Our Place. Each Sunday we bake 500 cookies for Reverend Al's Dandelion Society street outreach, then make 450–500 sandwiches with bread donated by Cobb's Bakery and help serve soup and lunch. Newcomers are always welcome.

Circle of Love Inside

For years our satsang has funded the mailbox that Circle of Love Inside writers use as their return address, so they can share a spiritual friendship by letter with people in prison. New writers in Canada are welcome to use it too – email us to find out more.

Amma's Birthday Celebration

Each year we hold a public celebration of Amma's birthday, with chanting, prayers, devotional songs with live musicians, a full Indian meal with chai, a raffle and a birthday cake.

Garage Sales

Each year we collect donated items and hold a public garage sale to raise funds for our community projects and Amma's charities. Volunteers and donations are always welcome.

Nature is our first mother. She nurtures us throughout our lives. Our birth mother may allow us to sit on her lap for a couple of years, but Mother Nature patiently bears our weight our entire life. Just as a child is obligated to his birth mother, we should all feel an obligation and responsibility towards Mother Nature.
