Welcome to the Vancouver Satsang

Part of the Pacific Northwest Amma family, our Vancouver satsang gathers to remember Amma through devotional singing, meditation, and reflection on her teachings, and cares for our city through community service.

Whether you have known Amma for years or are simply curious, all are warmly welcome to join us.

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well-being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who first enjoys their beauty and fragrance. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts.

— Amma

Amma encourages devotees to gather regularly, whether weekly at a home or a hall, to sing, meditate, and pray together, and then to share a meal as a spiritual family. It is an atmosphere that steadies the mind, uplifts everyone present, and quietly shapes the children who grow up in it.

Satsang Schedule

Monthly

We gather to share spiritual practices - on the last weekend of the month at a member's home. At our spiritual gathering, or satsang, we chant Amma's 108 names, listen to a reading from Amma's teachings, sing beautiful devotional songs or bhajans, offer the arati flame, pray, and have a short un-guided meditation, followed by announcements of upcoming group activities and conversation. At the home-based satsang we also share a delicious vegetarian meal. At satsang, if desired, donations may be made to support Amma's charitable activities.
