Maha Shivaratri or the “Night of Shiva” is one of the most revered and celebrated spiritual nights in Sanatana Dharma for all spiritual aspirants. On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, devotees observe a day long fast and worship Lord Shiva with great ardor as it is believed that whoever worships Lord Shiva on this day attains salvation, and that by fasting on this one day, one can reap the benefits of a whole year’s worth of rigorous prayer.
